Jewellery Care
Handbag Care
Be sure to give your jewellery the Fiera treatment to maintain its beauty and quality. If you adhere to the following instructions you will be sure to
get many years of enjoyment from your Fiera jewellery.
Please follow this link to view
jewellery cleaning instructions.
- Jewellery should be the last thing you put on when getting dressed! Personal care products such as
perfume and hairspray, spray-on deodorant and other aerosol products can tarnish jewellery.
- When undressing jewellery should be the first thing you take off! This will avoid it
snagging your clothing and always remember to take your jewellery off before sleeping to avoid accidental damage.
- Always store your jewellery safely in the box or satin pouch it came in. This will help to avoid excess
exposure to dust and moisture which can tarnish and discolour jewellery.
- Do not store your jewellery in the bathroom as the excess moisture will encourage tarnishing and discolouration.
- Do not leave jewellery with enamel beading in direct sunlight for extended periods of time as the enamel beads may fade.
- Please take care when wearing your jewellery as some pieces are very delicate. Fiera cannot take responsibility
for jewellery that is broken due to rough handling.
- Please remove your jewellery before you go in a swimming pool, spa or sauna as chlorine and moisture can
be harmful to jewellery.
- Please remove your jewellery before you go to the beach as sand and seawater is damaging to jewellery.
- Never wear your jewellery in the shower as the chemicals found in your personal care products including
soap, shampoo and conditioner can be harmful to jewellery.
- Please remove your jewellery when using domestic cleaning products as they too contain chemicals that can
damage and in some cases erode precious metals and stones.
- Please remove your jewellery before exercising as excessive sweat can be harmful to jewellery.
Cleaning Your Jewellery
As well as following Fiera’s jewellery care instructions we also recommend using the appropriate methods to clean your jewellery. This will
ensure you do not cause any accidental damage and that it maintains its lustre for many years to come.
Sterling Silver
Discolouration of Sterling Silver is a natural reaction to chemicals in the atmosphere, heat and your personal body oils. It can usually be
removed by careful use of a good quality jewellery cleaning cloth. You can purchase a sterling silver cleaning cloth from your nearest Fiera
Boutique.
Sterling silver can also be cleaned using a sonic bath if your jewellery does not have any pearls, enamel beads or Pavė beads. Only leave it
in the bath for a maximum of 2 minutes. You can also wash your jewellery with a mild solution of dishwashing liquid and water, rinse in warm
water and thoroughly dry it with a soft cloth.
Never use chemical based silver cleaners as they will damage the finish on your jewellery as well as any inlaid gemstones. Please avoid contact
with the previously mentioned substances.
All other materials
For all jewellery, charms and beads made from materials such as pearls, enamel, Pavė and Cubic Zirconia please use a silver cleaning cloth to
gently wipe them. Never use a sonic bath or dishwashing liquid for jewellery pieces that contain materials other than sterling silver. You can
purchase a sterling silver cleaning cloth from your nearest Fiera Boutique.
Our beautiful handbags require some tender love and care to ensure that they maintain their beauty and vibrancy. Following these simple care tips
recommended by Fiera will keep your handbag in great condition providing you with many years of enjoyment.
Leather
Non Leather
Wallets & Pouches
Leather products are made from tanned animal hides. Many manufacturers apply several coatings onto the leather to increase their stain resistance
and durability.
Leather products can age with wear and may fade, soften and stretch over time. When accessorising a dark coloured outfit with a light coloured leather
bag please be aware that it may absorb any darker dye it comes into contact with.
Good leather care involves taking extra care to avoid the build up of dirt, personal body oils and food stains. Fiera’s leather care instructions
will keep your leather bags in beautiful condition. Please remember to always keep your leather products away from grease products such as food as well
as water which can result in markings and discolouration.
1. Protection Before Use
Fiera recommends adequately protect all you leather items before using them. Regularly applying a good protector will
assist in maintaining your bag’s beauty over time. Any embellishments such as metal and beading need to be covered when spraying the protector to avoid
unnecessary damage. Protector will also help to prevent light coloured leathers from absorbing dye from clothing however Fiera cannot always guarantee this.
2. Cleaning
It is important to use the correct type of cleaner for your leather products. While Fiera do not sell any leather cleaners this product
can easily be found at your local shoe repairer. Always test the cleaner first on a small area of the bag that is not highly visible. For example the
underneath of the handbag and always remember to reapply protector after cleaning. Please note you should never condition metallic leathers!
4. Polishing
Keep your leather bag looking fabulous by polishing it to remove fingerprints and dust. This is particularly effective for high shine leathers such as
patent. Fiera recommends using a silver cleaning cloth which is also effective for cleaning any beading or other embellishments on your handbag.
5. Storing
Fiera recommends storing your leather items in their provided cover bag or in a fabric bag when you’re not using them. You should never store your
leather bag in plastic as they cannot breathe and always store them in a cool. Avoid storing them in direct sunlight and heat.
Fiera has a wide range of non leather bags which are simple to care for including evening bags. Our bags made from a variety of materials including
leather, acrylic and other soft materials.
Fiera’s acrylic hard cases are very sturdy and easy to care for. Use a damp cloth to wipe any spills and use the provided cover bag or a
soft cloth to polish and remove any fingerprints and dust.
For other non-leather bags Fiera recommends using a spray-on fabric water proofer to help protect them from marking and discolouring. Be
sure to cover any beading and embellishments before spraying to avoid unnecessary damage. To clean any beading and embellishments please
use a silver cleaning cloth to gently wipe them.
To care for leather evening bags please refer to the previously provided leather care instructions.
